The Mask

Put on a smile

Paint on a face

Don’t dare feel tired

Or down in the dumps

Keep yourself upright

Don’t you dare slump

Endless knots just fill your brain

They twist and curl

Create such pain

So put on a smile

Paint on a face

Just make sure the mask

Is in perfect place

Put on a show

Don’t dare let go

Don’t let it out

Don’t you dare pout

The odds and ends

And curves and bends

Are there to test your skill

But never, when you’re in doubt

Say you’re too tired

To climb the hill

Endless knots just fill your brain

Tangled webs drive you insane

Nothing seems to work out right

Another day just turns to night

So put on a smile

Paint on a face

No need to worry

It’s merely a phase

Don’t bother to look

At the mess everywhere

Just cope and manage

And don’t show the wear.
