Ovary transplant offers hope

Ovary transplant offers hope : “THE first ovary transplant between women who are not identical twins has been performed successfully in Belgium, offering a new route to fertility for women who lose it because of an early menopause or medical treatment.”

The tissue rejection has been a problem. I hope this can happen because a lot of women who are infertile or have sustained ovary damage have a chance of becoming normally pregnant. IVF puts a great strain on the female body, the relationship and and wallet even though it has brought the joy of children for those who could conceive that way. An ovary transplant will,in time, become more routine and so conception and pregnancy will be more natural. I really hope it works. Women who have to try and have babies other ways at the moment are really having to invest a great deal emotionally and physically. They are denied a natural process. It’s a massive upheaval.
