Guru’s garden survival guide

Guru’s garden survival guide: “HOME gardeners will not be denied. Despite the State Government imposing tough and what many believe to be unfair restrictions, they are determined to keep their gardens alive during summer.”

We are only allowed to water once a week and given the 40+ temperatures, we could be going frantic. This article is really helpful and there have been others like it. We have had such a lot of help from the media in trying to manage long, hot dry spells. Gardens can be very comforting and great stress busters , so in the interests of our well being, we have had to look at the whole water restriction deal very carefully. We have been better prepared this year, thanks to all the help and we have set our gardens up better, but in 41 degree heat yesterday , we were out bucketing rain water to our precious plants. We are more pragmatic about it this year and there’s a better sense of coping. A little help goes a long way and is a far better approach than alarmist squawking.
