Daughter’s legacy inspires marathon walk

Daughter's legacy inspires marathon walk : “‘My goal since the day she died was to bring up her son the way that she wanted him brought up and to make sure that no one ever died the way my daughter did,’ she said.”

We need people like Trish Carey. Not only are they inspirational, they are prepared to stand up and talk about things which we need to know, but which must be so very hard to talk about. She has lost her daughter at 28 to Marfan’s Syndrome. Did you know about it? I didn’t. Do we need to know about it? Yes. People out there will have children with this syndrome and they will be giving birth to babies with this syndrome and stuff like this is always easier to manage if the community has a good knowledge of it and is then able to provide comfort and support. At the moment Trish Carey is doing her walk to raise awareness and much needed funding.
