Exercise sharpens older minds and bodies : “Researchers combined the results of 11 studies examining the effects of physical exercise in healthy people over 55.”

I think the Biggest Loser this year has demonstrated admirably that fitness and weight loss benefits everyone . The contestants look happier, look younger and are full of hope and ideas. Their capacity to endure has been increased because they have learned to push their bodies and their minds. Fitness does increase thinking because sometimes, like Sean and John you have to think about how you will achieve your goals without damaging your health. I don’t know if a fatty body means a fatty brain…but a fat body does tend to bring on depression and feelings of hopelessness. So if your body is fitter your brain would be cleaner and clearer I should have thought and now we have the evidence. But the trainers this year, including the Commando who is not in this picture, have all stressed the mental aspect of attaining better health and fitness. It is not just a physical challenge and it is not just of benefit to your body.
