AUSTRALIA is winning the war against cancerLet me count…my sister’s sister in law has had breast cancer, my sister’s mother in law has had breast cancer, we have had 4 cases of cancer at work, my friend’s mum has bowel cancer, my daughters friend’s mum has bowel cancer…3 of them are currently in remission. My neighbour has been in remission form lymphoma for over 5 years. her mother has had lymphoma and has survived 3 years. My mother died of lymphoma over 20 years ago. We all know people with cancer and the good news is…most of them are staying alive. The treatments are more effective and seem to be less drastic. We must be getting something right. It’s the research and dedication of the medical practitioners and then we are far better at supporting those with cancer and they are getting better at putting up a fight. It’s a grand team effort and the sooner we lick this disgusting disease..the better. Much of it has to do with nutrition and exercise. A lot of cancer patients keep up some form of activity for as long as they can. Most switch to a really healthy diet and we get in there and help them when they are feeling weak and we can find so many things to help them with these days. The morale is better and medical practitioners can offer more and I think that has helped them to be more resilient and resourceful. Hope. It’s all about hope.
