Be happy

After reviewing 30 studies carried out worldwide over periods ranging from one to 60 years, the Dutch professor said the effects of happiness on longevity were “comparable to that of smoking or not”.

This Dutch professor has done a lot of work and then thinking so the whole article is well worth the read. In the material age it does put a different flavour on how you look at life and what is important. So many people are strained and pushed to their limit in the acquisition of wealth and things. So many children are breaking because they too are caught up in the bind of performing and acquiring instead of just living. Our environment and the people in it contribute significantly to our happiness. If you tie this in with the research on workplace bullying then change and multiple managers are top contributors to workplace bullying and subsequent breakdown of employees. At the very least we can have a look at all this and expect some good change…for our health’s sake.
