AdelaideNow… Adelaide research to repair brain damage with stem cells from teeth

Almost 100 scientists and 80 students from 18 research groups across Adelaide are involved with the centre, which plans to develop therapies for diseases such as stroke, heart attack, cancer and cystic fibrosis.

Every single one of these diseases and conditions is devastating. Cystic fibrosis can claim very young people. If this research can help repair people with these conditions it will relieve so much heart ache and pain. It does seem bizarre to use back teeth to harvest stem cells….but who cares? If this can work, it will be brilliant and it is just so great to know we have researchers who not only can think of these things, but who can work towards their success.
