Long Haul Days

I did manage my huge day…6am to 8.30 pm. I managed it because I had a little plan which I blogged a couple of posts ago. The water worked. The chatting worked. I didn’t pay attention to the time at all. I focussed on what I had to do at that moment and did not think ahead. Getting outside to see the sky, the trees and breathe some fresh air worked. I didn’t eat a lot but I ate well, so I wasn’t weighed down. I could have done with a bit of a nap, but that is not possible at work. It would make all the difference and yet, I suppose , there’d be people dropping off to sleep and we’d be carrying them. That’s the trouble, you can be reasonable and then some people just push the boundaries and take advantage. Like those who always come back late from breaks. The lack of consideration puts strain on others. But I was pleased with my effort because even though I was tired yesterday  I felt I could cope. I didn’t feel like I had been pushed past my limit because of an extra long day. Changing between sitting and walking around helped too and not thinking about the amount of time I had to work. All in all the preparation paid off.
