Garden Survivor

We have survived the drought at the moment and the weather has changed sufficiently to give us a chance to effect repairs. We need to get onto it quickly to benefit from whatever rain we get. Last year it just wasn’t enough so this year our gardens are just too dry. We all have a better plan. The drought tolerant plants I planted last year didn’t survive. Sometimes it doesn’t work if they just don’t get properly established. This year we are all thinking how to approach it because we like nice gardens and the constant heat and no water robbed us of that. The garden centres have been packed. People are prepared to do the work. I have invested in more wood chips. I am also looking at what has survives and shall establish more of those plants. Shade seems to be important. So it’s a challenge, but it means you have to think and approach it methodically. I like to garden not just for the results but because it’s the best way I know to keep fit. I don’t like gyms or sport. Gardening, if you are doing what we have to do , gives you a pretty good the benefits are plenty! Then there is the advantage of somewhere to go when you are stressed from work…and you can sit quietly and enjoy the leafy greens or you can get stuck into something to work out the frustration!
