Make a beanie from an old sweater

Andrea’s Choice can come up with some very practical ideas which anyone can do. The beanie appeals to me. It is quick, simple and focusses on recycling. What won’t work as a jumper or top might well work as a beanie and matching leg warmers! I don’t feel secure about gluing edges. If it were a knitted garment the edges would not be stable. The glue might create ridges which don’t sit right. I sew very happily and this would take 10 minutes , tops. The edges could be over sewn and they’d be stable. It is all straight sewing. You could make these for yourself but you could also follow the make one give one principle so everyone has a nice warm beanie for winter.
