The Big Dry

Just about the whole of Australia is on water restrictions at the moment. It is affecting our food supply and our wine industry and it’s heart breaking for the farmers. City folk are trying madly to save water and have gone to extra ordinary lengths in some places until finally, they have had to have water brought in. This land can be harsh. I am seriously thinking of going outside and doing a rain dance. We so need it. It’s dusty and has been for months. The weather is fantastic for tourists. They love it and we have enjoyed our extended summer…but time for a rain dance. Time to go outside and pound on the earth and do a great big jig because we need the rain to bring back life. I’m just wondering waht it would look like if we all went outside and did a rain dance. This teaching ideas site has put together a good lesson plan on it, maybe I’ll try it!
